40 days smarter!

We celebrated our 40th day of school this week! Every ten days of school we get a visit from Zero the Hero. He surprises us with a treat that is round like a zero! This week he brought us glow in the dark Halloween rings. :) We turned the number 40 into Frankenstein and made a poster with 40 Halloween pictures. Practice counting to 100 by 1s and 10s (and 2s and 5s!) with your child at home!

Mac Barnett Assembly!

Reed School had a special visit from Mac Barnett this week - he is an amazing author and a hilarious presenter! Mac had the kids (and teachers) laughing out loud nearly the entire time. He also read his new book (The Wolf The Duck & The Mouse) at the assembly and we loved it!

Bug Tag!

I love seeing the last few minutes of PE when I pick the kids up from Mr. Kaiser and Mr. Hale. This week they were playing Bug Tag in the MPR - ask your child how to get "saved" in Bug Tag!   :)

Room on the Broom...

At Community Time this week we had a special performance by our Reed School specialists. If you are able to attend the Halloween parade on Tuesday morning you will get to see a live performance! :)
We also sang a fun Halloween song with Ms. Balfe!

Pajama Day!

It's hard to think of anything better than wearing your PJs to school and building forts with your friends!

Read To Someone

We love practicing reading with our friends. We like to read "EEKK" style, which means "Elbow to Elbow and Knee to Knee, book in the middle so we both can see!" Practice reading your child's book bag books this way at home!

Fun Friday!

Friday lunch recess = pogo sticks, corn hole, and fun music...and it's even more fun when you catch the principal out pogo sticking with the kids!

Minnie Mouse

This weekend Avery got dressed up to go down to the Bon Air shopping center for some trick-or-treat fun. She loved seeing the kids (and dogs!) in costumes. Happy Halloween from Minnie Mouse! Hope to see you at the Halloween parade (8:45am) and our Room 4 party (9:15) on Tuesday!
